Charlie Stacey has been playing piano and keyboards professionally since the age of 13. He spent his teens playing in London clubs with numerous different jazz artists, many of them associated with the Tomorrows Warriors jazz education initiative. He also played with different rock groups and collaborated with rappers and producers during this period. At the age of 18 he went to Princeton University, New Jersey to study philosophy. Returning in 2014, he commenced to work with Knoel Scott of the Sun Ra Arkestra, becoming pianist in Scott’s quartet. Since then he has been developing his trio with drummer Enrico Truzzi and bassist David Paulis, with whom he released his debut album Metempsychosis in 2016. He also featured on Italian bassist Michele Montolli’s debut album Satellite House. This led to his first touring experience, in which he played 14 dates all across Italy. Since 2017 he has been performing all over Europe with drummer Yussef Dayes and guitarist Mansur Brown.
